Fitness Refined

Hayley Kirby, Founder

I started a career in Personal Training, initially not because I wanted to, but because I needed to. I have a rare genetic disorder, Classical Ehlers-Danlos. This disorder creates laxity in many structures of my body, including the ligaments and tendons. My joints are unstable which can cause subluxations and dislocations. An EDS educated Personal Trainer or Group Instructor did not exist, so I became one. Learning how to effectively train a body that doesn't always fit the rules of normal movement patterns has given me uncommon insight into training all sorts of bodies. I've taken that experience and applied it to my clients and to my group fitness classes. While there is a safe and effective way to perform exercises, it is not one size fits all. I want all of my clients to feel like they are building and maintaining their bodies in a stable and manageable way. I'm the Instructor who you can come to after your PT has released you and you don't know what to do next. I'm the Instructor who understands how to start from the beginning after an injury or returning after pregnancy. Whether you come for a 1:1 session or a group class, I can offer instruction for all levels of fitness. Above all, I make the same commitment to my students that I make to myself: Never stop learning and never stop trying.

When I'm not teaching you can find me hanging with my family, running or waiting hand and foot on my 2 furry overlords!
